Holidays are over and a few of us W.I.N.'s, Mark, Raylene, Steve, Karen, Chuck and O.J. and Fran enjoy learning some new dance steps at Martinez Lake on a perfect Sunday afternoon

Christmas in Yuma

Yikes, is she kidding? What we dogs have to put up with.

Christmas in my Yuma home on wheels
The annual W.I.N.'s Christmas gift exchange game at the VFW

Each morning I walk the dogs in the nearby Fortuna Foothills and watch the sun come up

I'm only a couple of blocks from the Foothills where there is lots of land to explore

Arrived in Yuma, Arizona

Finally.......arrived in Yuma on December 1st, to a sunny, almost
80 degree day. I actually got out of my truck and kissed the warm sidewalk. I was so glad to be here.
This Winter I've decided to hang out in Yuma and not be a "gypsy" this year. Actually, just lazy and have made a number of friends here and lots of dancing and things to do. There's something to be said about having power, water and sewer. Of course all made possible by my good friends from Idaho.

Thanksgiving in Utah

Weather was so bad in Idaho, that Interstate was closed and had to wait until early Thanksgiving morning to begin my trek to Utah and my son's home. Got up bright and early with about 18 inches of snow in the driveway. No problem...........I've got 4-wheel drive. Temperature is reading right
at 10 below zero.......big problem.........my diesel truck wouldn't start. Seems the block heater must
have conked out sometime in the night. Yikes!!! Will I ever get out of here??

Called my trusty mechanic, Ben, who was 45 miles away on turkey day and he came out and got
me going. Now I'm only 3 hours behind schedule. Walked into my son's home just as they were
all sitting down for dinner. Great timing!

After visiting with my "new" grand daughter who I just met for the first time at 17 mos. old and
her brother, sister, mom and dad and my younger son's family, I packed up to head out for
Arizona. Wrong.......................it snowed 14 inches overnight and roads were treacherous.
Another delay...........will I ever get there? I hate snow, I hate snow, I hate snow........

Winter Is Here

November 20, 2010

Been anxiously awaiting to begin my annual adventure to "snowbird" country for the season. This year is a little different since my kids planned a reunion at their home in Utah for Thanksgiving. I am all packed and was set to go this morning until I woke up to this scene. Looks like a couple more storms are on the way and the roads are nasty especially over the two mountain passes that I must travel through. So............here I sit waiting for a break in the weather.
